Property Description

This beautiful 19th century chateau is situated on the prestigious Cap d’Antibes between Cannes and Antibes, France.

The villa was built in 1865 by Baron Louis Thenard and was acquired by the uncle of Tsar Nicolas II, Grand Duke Nicolas Romanov, the commander of the Russian Army. He was married to Anastacia the daughter of King Nicolas I of Montenegro, whose sisters were the Queen of Italy and of Serbia, and lived in the Chateau from 1919 to 1929.

The present owners have carefully refurbished this impressive villa to a very high standard while remaining true to its 19th century origins and royal history. The villa offers a serene, palatial feel with its luxurious furnishings, modern amenities, and commanding sea views. The villa has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a gourmet chef's kitchen, living room, a library, and a dining room that seats up to ten people. The property is located in a private gated domain and offers room to park up to four cars comfortably. This Belle Epoque villa offers a peaceful and opulent setting with beautiful views of the sea and private historic landscaped gardens.

The villa offers an open living plan featuring a large living and dining area, an intimate library room, and several outdoor dining and lounge areas for relaxation and entertainment. The home offers high ceilings and is spacious and bright with natural light. Each room on the 1st floor has beautiful large French doors that open onto the terrace facing the sea with views of the Iles de Lérins allowing guests to live both indoors and outdoors.

The interior spaces are nicely decorated with carefully selected quality, furniture. There is the large bridal suite on the first floor, beside the library, and the three remaining bedrooms are all situated on the ground floor. The various shaded and uncovered terraces offer beautiful sea views and make for wonderful areas for al-fresco dining both night and day.
