A Historic Oceanfront Hotel

Built in 1942 by L. Murray Dixon, the architect responsible for many famous Miami Beach Art Deco hotels, The Betsy stands as the lone surviving example of Florida Georgian architecture on Ocean Drive today. Enamored with “the colonial chic” of the post Great Depression era, Dixon’s ‘Betsy Ross Hotel’ has an expansive four-column portico and signature shuttered windows. Located at the edge of the water with an Ocean Deck that peers three stories above the Atlantic, The Betsy is a historic boutique hotel that combines 21st century technology with the architecture and grace of yesteryear.

Breezy Beach-bright Luxury Rooms

From Classic Rooms to Royal Suites, accommodations at The Betsy combine sensory detail and inspiring design to produce a unique South Beach experience. Each of the hotel’s 61 rooms and suites are private, beachside havens where modern technology coexists seamlessly with the architectural detail and grace of yesteryear. Plantation-style shutters filter Florida sunshine onto dark walnut wood floors, white lacquered cabinetry and unique raffia accents, while original artwork, in-room libraries and bookmarks embossed with poetic verses inspire guests to contemplate and relax. Bathrooms are sheathed in Thassos marble with large mirrors that incorporate flat-panel television screens and built-in lighting. The natural botanical extracts of (Malin+Goetz) luxury apothecary amenities ensure a spa-like experience.

Luxury Boutique Experience

At The Betsy, we’ve elevated the luxury hotel experience with carefully crafted amenities and services that sparkle with originality and inspiration. Whether you’re enjoying sunrise yoga on the Ocean Deck, sunning steps away on the beach or savoring fresh lemonade by the Courtyard Pool, we think you’ll agree that no South Beach hotel anticipates your needs quite so effortlessly.

Miami Beach's Only Outdoor Spa

Located at our rooftop Ocean Deck, The Wellness Garden & Spa at The Betsy is designed to soothe the senses with Zen-inspired wood, stone, bamboo and natural fibers - all shaded by retractable sails and private cabanas. Unique spa treatments and massage therapies derived from food- and plant-based ingredients are offered in our tranquil rooftop oasis or in the privacy of your own guest room. All Betsy Wellness Garden spa therapies incorporate paraben-free products derived from natural ingredients, including sugar plums, blueberries and mandarins.  Creative signature therapies include a Wood Stone Ritual treatment with chilled stones, an indulgent Coconut Hot Towel facial and a host of massages, body treatments, manicures and pedicures suited for both men and women.

World Class Dining

Modern American steakhouse meets South Beach at BLT Steak, the powerhouse culinary creation of celebrated chef Laurent Tourondel. A natural fit within the exquisite environs of The Betsy, BLT Steak delights South Beach locals and guests with sublime USDA Prime, Wagyu and Certified Black Angus beef, as well as weekly “Blackboard Specials” highlighting the seasonal flavors and locally sourced ingredients.

Arts and Culture on South Beach

Within the context of having a successful luxury hotel, The Betsy offers wide-ranging programs that embrace the richness of global arts and culture.  From curated soundscapes property-wide to cutting edge visual art and visiting thought-leaders who lead fascinating conversations while guests enjoy artful eating: The Betsy’s programs inspire, inform, and create an unforgettable and unique backdrop to a South Beach travel experience. The Betsy has ‘renamed’ the period between Thanksgiving and Valentines Day the Season of Gratitude, to embrace the universal desire for a world where giving thanks is a shared mission.
